Me? Like journaling? Who woulda thunk? And how the heck do you journal?
Seriously, if you would have told me a week ago that I’d be this excited about journaling, my repsonse would probably have been “Yeah….right.” You can read all about the WHY of journaling, and why I think it is of great value to everyone in my last written blog post here. And to watch the video, just click on my head above. (And if you’re viewing this from our super cool new APP, scroll down to the bottom and click on “view original post” which takes you to the website to watch my awesome video).
So what changed?
I decided to finally commit to a Morning Power Hour.
What’s that? It’s an hour you commit to each day, where you spend 20 minutes on movement (for me, it’s mobility that we teach with Move by Design and my current squat challenge), 20 minutes of learning (for me, it’s reading), and 20 minutes of journaling, or you could also do meditation. Mediation and me right now would not work in my sleep deprived state…I’d be asleep in a minute if I closed my eyes! You can read a little bit about the Morning Power Hour in a recent video blog post here. But more to come over the next few weeks-subscribe to the blog here to make sure you never miss one of these awesome video and written episodes!
Watch the short 6 minute video above to discover 5 Simple Steps to get Journaling! Now, after just 6 days of daily journaling, I’m no expert. However, I do have the experience of (maybe just like you) thinking I never wanted to nor knew how to do this, and completely had changed my tune about it a week ago. Never say never, right?
Some inspirations to my new found love of journaling you may want to check out:
Dr. Andrea Ryan. Fellow chiropractor, amazing mom, and passionate woman who is part of my weekly accountability group. Dr. Andrea writes an amazing blog, and a recent post of hers on The Bucket List was my motivation to start create mine this morning in my journaling. Go ahead and subscribe to her blog-awesome content and really heartfelt authenticity in each and every one!
Brene Brown Wow. I can’t say enough about this amazing woman and her reserach findings of WholeHearted Living. I’ve read 2 of her 3 books in about a week-Daring Greatly, and The Gifts of Imperfection. I’ve also just started her 6 week art journaling Ecourse with Oprah that you can still register for until midnight October 23rd. Such an amazing expereince already, and I’ve shared this with numerous people over the last week. I know, I told myself I didn’t have the time, either. And then I just did it. You can, too.
Let’s continue this conversation!
I want to know if this inspired you, and did it motivate you to take action and start journaling? If yes, what are you noticing in your life since you started journaling? What challenges are you having? Please post all your thoughts in the comments section below or on our Facebook Page. Go ahead and LIKE our page if you haven’t already.
