Think Different

by Dr. Karen Osburn on June 18, 2013

PinExt Think Different

I was inspired to make this video blog after several recent experiences in my life.

One of which is the book I’m currently reading: Steve Jobs Biography, the founder and creative genius behind Apple.  Everyone knows the famous Apple tagline-Think Different.  And how can you forget that ground-breaking Apple commercial when they first introduced this concept?

I not only felt inspired but compelled and moved to address this idea: We have forgotten how to think.

In the world of information, the internet, and technology (which are all wonderful things), the ability to think logically and rationally is almost a lost art.  I see this in practice every day.  Most people are afraid.  Afraid to make a decision on their own.  Afraid to follow what they think is best.  Afraid to have a new idea or question what they were raised to think.  Afraid to think different.

I think in order to heal our world, ourselves, and raise our children to really make a significant place in this world, we need to think different.

think by design logo 300x123 Think Different

So how do you learn to do this?  Join us at our next Think by Design seminar on Tuesday July 16th at 6:30 PM.  Tickets can be purchased in our office, over the phone (780-418-4331), or online for you and a guest.  This seminar is the foundation for your life.  The platform on which to build the life you were born to live-an extraordinary life.

I urge you to attend this seminar, and allow us to inspire and motivate you to be the best you possible!

P.S.  Just out today–the latest Life by Design Podcast on Objectivism in Health with special guest Dr. Yaron Brook.    And an episode on Think by Design earlier this year that’s amazing-enjoy!

Is it Possible to Slow Down?

June 16, 2013

Yesterday, I was inspired.   Ed, myself, and the rest of our team attended TEDx Edmonton.  If you haven’t heard of TED talks, first come out from under your rock.  Just kidding….TED started in 1984 as a think tank on the topics of Technology, Innovation, and Design (hence the acronym, TED).  Google  or YouTube TED [...]

What Does it Mean to Be Healthy?

People tell me all the time that they would like to be ‘healthy.’  What does this mean, exactly?  If I asked you to define what being healthy means to you, could you tell me?  Would it be specific?  How can you achieve something if you don’t really know what it is?   Please take 5 [...]

When The Doctor Becomes the Patient

June 9, 2013

Dr. Ed’s Story   I cannot say that I clearly remember when I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. But it was 2009.  I do remember (later being informed by Karen) that while I was semi-conscious and fumbling to dress myself after a procedure, a curt nurse grabbed my attention—stating, “You have severe Crohn’s disease” and [...]

2 Books That Changed My Life!

I often ask myself this question: Why do I care so much?  I struggle at times with the ongoing persistence that is necessary to fulfill our vision of Creating a Legacy of 1000 Extraordinary Families.  Although some people embrace what we teach whole-heartedly, there are many that do not. Others question our intention, almost as [...]

Is Your Glass Half Empty or Half Full?

May 26, 2013

I live with my glass half empty husband.  No, I wouldn’t say Ed is a pessimist, but more of a realist.  And I’ve described myself in past as an optimist, but more recently, a realist, too.  However, I still always float more towards the side of optimism.  I always think it can all be done.  [...]
